THE GIFT OF BIRMINGHAM
When you spend all of your time living in and travelling through a big city, it is very easy to forget just how beautiful it is. So when I decided to photograph some of the iconic sights around Birmingham for a Christmas present for my parents, I started to look at my home city in a totally different way. This was something very different to the type of photography I am used to - usually involving a lot of people and a wide range of movement!
I found it really enjoyable taking these photographs, as I had the opportunity to really think about how best to compose them, and how they would best be edited, printed and framed. Below are the four images I chose to use for the gift - having the first three framed as a tryptic, and the last printed onto a canvas.
L-R: BT Tower, Rotunda, St Martin Church, Selfridges
The Library of Birmingham
St Paul's Square, The Jewellery Quarter
Tryptic of first three images - framed at The Framers in the Custard Factory
Canvas print 16"x12"
These images along with a few others taken around the city will soon be available to buy through my online store - so if you are looking for some wall art for your home or office make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that! Similarly, if you have a specific part of Birmingham that you would like capturing I am available for commissions upon request.
