Back in August we had a crazy 3 week adventure along the West Coast of America, starting in Los Angeles! The next few blog posts will be little snippets of some of the places we visited, and a few of my favourite photos from the trip (believe me there were a lot to choose from!)

We flew straight into Los Angeles from London, and spent a couple of days there exploring the top tourist spots LA has to offer! Whilst here, we stayed in Omar's AirBnB which was the perfect location for our stay and Omar was a great host who offered us plenty of super useful tips for our time there - we would definitely recommend his place for anybody looking to visit LA! On our first day we set out to explore Hollywood and Beverly Hills, starting off at Hollywood Boulevard. For somebody who has always been fascinated by the idea of Hollywood and who has a (mild?) obsession with Audrey Hepburn, needless to say I was keen to hunt down her Hollywood star. We walked over a mile (yes the Boulevard goes that far - in both directions!) until we finally found it which for me was a pretty amazing start to our time in LA.

When I was finally done admiring Audrey Hepburn's star we got on a bus up to the Griffith Observatory (from outside the Vermont/Sunset Metro station and it only cost $1 for both of us!) to check out some of the skyline views of Los Angeles, and in particular the Hollywood sign. It was cloudy and overcast all day, but we managed to get some pretty clear views from high up at the observatory, and it not disappoint! It was the perfect spot to see LA from all angles.

We spent early evening at the gorgeous Beverly Hills Hotel for dinner, (where we enjoyed pretending we could afford the lavish lifestyle of all the people staying there...) before driving up through Beverly Hills to Lake Hollywood Park to watch the sunset and get another view of the Hollywood sign. I have to say, easily the most impressive sunset I've ever seen.

On our second day in LA, we headed down to Venice Beach where we hired bikes and cycled along to coast to Santa Monica! Considering I hadn't cycled for about 3 years before this, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the ride, although I think it was helped along by the incredible views we saw along the way!

We spent some time walking along Santa Monica Pier and saw some incredible views looking back towards the coastline.

We spent the afternoon relaxing on Venice Beach, before heading out to explore Downtown LA and dinner at Umami Burger, quite rightly rated the number 1 burger place in LA. And that pretty much ties up our 2 crazy days in Los Angeles! Some of these photos are available to purchase as prints from my online shop, so go check them out!

If you enjoyed this post, make sure you keep an eye out for the next one all about our journey from LA to San Francisco along the breathtaking Pacific Coast Highway, including a stopover in Santa Cruz! For now, I'll leave you with this little teaser...
